The announcement was made on the first day of the Republican National Convention at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, where former President Donald Trump appeared with a bandage on his ear and very emotional just two days after he was wounded in an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday evening.
