 June 19th, 2024, the US  nation is celebrating Juneteenth as a National Holiday. The celebration of what is now known as the Second Independence Day is the fourth  following the event held on Thursday, June 17, 2020,  when US President Joe Biden signed a bill into law, making June 19 a national holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved black Americans. This year, the Juneteenth celebration will focus on the history of our ancestors and  "Their Wildest Dreams", and the present accomplishments and progress  affirmation of every person's right to equity and dignity.

From the beginning of the year 2024  to the days leading to June 2024, across the  World, general elections have been held.  Based on the published results or as the votes are still being counted and the results put together, many challenges have been faced while new firsts were uncovered.  In most countries, people are expecting changes, while in some, the situation has not improved and tough days may be coming. AfroAmerica Network has focused on a few elections held or planned in 2024.. Among the elections with several challenges or  significant firsts are Mexico, South Africa, India, Senegal, Chad. Meanwhile, other countries, including UK, USA, Rwanda, and Namibia,  are expecting key  elections. Controversial elections  in Rwanda and UK are scheduled for July 2024.

Since May 20, 2024, Kenyan President has been on a state visit to the USA where he met President Joe Biden and several other government and local leaders. His trip came after attending the African CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda on May 17, 2024. On his trip to Rwanda, he made conflicting statements during interviews with media, justifying the use of Kenyan troops in Haiti to fight  off the Haitian gangs controlling the country while advocating for a diplomatic solution for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to fight off the  Rwandan troops under the cover of M23 rebels committing war crimes and looting mineral resources. His comments before heading to the USA on a historical state visit  have raised controversies and made the decisions to send troops to Haiti  and to go on a expensive trip to the USA, very unpopular in Kenya.

 2024 Super Tuesday is gone and the results are in.  Super Tuesday is when a large number of US states hold votes in the presidential primary election.  Voters in 15 states and one US territory  chose the candidates for president. The candidates were from the major two political parties and included a few independents. After the elections, the results are clear: President Joe Biden and Former President Donald Trump are winners. The focus  of the voters has now shifted  to the  two leaders on the critical topics and issues in play in the US,  especially regarding the economy, immigration, healthcare, and International politics.

The season for the 2024 US presidential elections is in decisive moments for the GOP (Republican) primary races.  Donald Trump has won  South Carolina's Republican primary on Saturday February 24, 2024,  defeating Nikki Haley, based on the latest projections.
This is the fourth consecutive win for former US President Donald J. Trump.

The funny  and more question still remain:  If he  wins the 2024 elections, will former President Donald Trump appoint his African-American friends, especially the Black rappers  who supported him during the 2020 elections to the cabinet and  will  Tim Scott  be the running mate?
